Last night was my first time seeing Kylie Minogue
and this was her first arena tour in the United States.
Having a chance to see her from the fourth row
on the floor for the first of two sold out shows at
Madison Square Garden felt very special and quite
profound... and then there was the show itself.
Kylie's show was, in every way, a master class in crowd pleasing
pop perfection. Songs were grouped into four stylishly rendered acts.
Each act was its own universe with its own emotional aura.
THIS was a very special moment.
Kylie on the center floor stage singing "Say Something".
Another person I got to see was my friend Greg,
who I met at a Goldfrapp show in Brooklyn in 2018.
Greg is a MEGA Kylie fan and often goes to her shows
in Kylie drag and has met her several times. In fact, on
one such occasion, during her Las Vegas residency,
Ms. Minogue herself called Greg "Padam Barbie".
Romy of The xx opened the show.
She was a phenomenal choice and an
artist I admire in a group or solo.
I really enjoyed the energy of her opening set.
Great statement. Thanks, Romy and Thanks again, Kylie!
