The Psychedelic Furs (Live) 30 October 2018

Last night I had a great time with my friend
Sean watching The Psychedelic Furs perform a
set of classic songs that have aged extremely well.

34 years after I was entranced by the video for
"The Ghost In You" I finally got to hear the song
performed live with all of Richard Butler's signature
gestures and angular body language firmly in check.

Thanks for a great show, P Furs...
and thanks for all the years of great songs.

Vinyl Therapy: Father John Misty (2015)

The songwriting, instrumentation and production on Father John Misty's new album
I Love You, Honeybear is fresh, classic and warm. It speaks to an earlier era of folk
rock (think Phil Spector's knob-twiddling on The Beatles' Let It Be) with a measure of
modern-day John Brion thrown in. The paintings by Stacey Rozich as well as the photos
by Elizabeth Tillman and layout by Josh Tillman only serve to complete the experience.

Archive: Montone Live On Lost On 42nd Street

Tonight marked my second appearance on Internet Radio, and my first as the full host of my own show.
MONTONE LIVE premiered tonight with an excellent mix of great indie, alternative, britpop and electro tracks.
I was also lucky enough to get two fun call-ins from friends during the 90 minute show (which sped by amid the beats).
Big thanks to my producer, Sly, for nimbly holding the backline for a smooth program.
