Setting Up Shows Again...

That thing where The Senior Art Show is in 8 days and I’m trying to finalize the floor plan as kids hand me last minute works to be matted and change their layouts and spatial requests and suddenly decide they’re on a first name basis with me (which they ARE NOT) while telling me they are collectively planning a senior prank where they show up at my house “for a sleep over” (which they WILL NOT be having) while one of them comes into the room with their older sister on FaceTime and hands me their phone so I can say hello to her and while I’m doing that HANDS ME A LARGE TUFT OF THEIR HAIR WHICH THEY HAD THEIR FRIEND CUT FOR THEM IN CLASS.

The Underclassmen Show Looked Like This...

I love The Moran Family and I love the fact that Katie took a photo of all six members of the Art Deparment at The Underclassmen Art Show. So much love here. Thanks to all who visited us!

Last night I saw my beloved blue heron in the park and was able to capture him in photos for the first time this season. I had caught a brief glimpse of him last Saturday but he flew away after the sound of my feet on the gravel bridge startled him. Last night I spied him in the creek and approached slowly. He sat still as I watched and recorded him, all the while keeping me under his sidelong gaze. It was a quiet moment that held meaning for me as the blue heron is a symbolic totem of someone who has chosen to claim their life as their own through self determination. I also took it as a positive harbinger for a joyful closure to the school year. Welcome back and thank you, my friend for a reminder that the universe has gentle ways of reminding us of who and what we have chosen to be in this world.
