She Nailed It

My Mother has once again outdone herself...

Katy Perry went to space for 11 minutes and died for our sins.
Happy Easter from The Montone Family and my adopted brother Steve
who made the cake below (and is, of course, my parents' favorite child).
Many thanks to Kelly McD for the outer space ice cream!

22 April 1985 - 40 Years Ago:
Prince And The Revolution - Around The World In A Day is released a mere ten months after the career-defining one-two punch of the Purple Rain film and soundtrack. This album was conceived and recorded after Purple Rain was mastered but before its release in June of 1984. Some of these songs had a live debut on The Purple Rain Tour and its singles (Raspberry Beret, Pop Life, Paisley Park and America) boasted some of Prince’s best B-sides: She’s Always In My Hair, Hello and Girl. PRO TIP: Go to YouTube and find the 21 minute version of America. It’s slaps. Also… Prince left us 9 years ago yesterday. Rest in power, Mister Nelson.

Happy 76th Birthday To The OG

The simplest things make me smile. Despite the craziness of the world and the constant (and seemingly inescapable) dystopian meme that the modern era has become I hope that I (and all of us) continue to find joy in the small things we notice as we go about our days. Here’s a little vignette from today’s supermarket errand. I hope it made you smile too.

Relax. It will all collapse in on itself. It will all disintegrate. Fools, frauds and felons can only skate by selling snake oil, fools gold and paper thin promises of plenty for so long. Some bought it. Some were bought. Some of us were never for sale (and never will be). Choose your timeline accordingly. Stay illuminated. XO - CDM
