From The Archives: Vintage Magazines (1940s - 1980s)

A series of magazines from my archives (1942 - 1989).
I've been collecting, bagging and boxing up magazines both old and
new in a carefully maintained archive for years and I will be sharing others
periodically. This mixture of titles and topics seemed to be a good place to
start. The Interview Magazine illustrations were done by Richard Bernstein.
The Andy Warhol portrait in the L.A. Eyeworks ad is by Greg Gorman.
It was startling to me to happen upon Warhol shoulder to shoulder
in the same double page spread as Keith Haring, whose work is featured
in this 1985 Swatch ad. Those two pages alone are a great 1980s time
capsule showing two pop art titans in their commercial element.

2010s Finale: Sketchbook No. 151 - Collages (2019)

Sketchbook Number 151:
A parting glance to the 2010s
seen and spoken with collage.

Here's to more creativity, collecting,
curation, cutting, pasting, painting
and drawing in the 2020s and beyond.
