Earlier today at work, I was presented with an early birthday present… A beautiful print of Robert Smith from The Cure by a senior named Alex. I taught Alex last year and this year he is working with one of my colleagues. He knows I’m a lifelong Cure fan and he’s a fan as well. He and I each saw the 2023 Cure tour days apart (he went with his Dad). Music is one of the things over which we bonded when he was in my painting class and he mentioned this in the note he attached to this beautiful artwork. When I was his age I did a large pastel drawing of Robert Smith in my high school art class. I’m turning 52 on Sunday and Robert Smith has just reappeared in the high school art room I work in. Time is indeed a flat circle. Thank you Alex!

My Mom is a straight up SAVAGE.

Another KILLER cake from my friend Steve
with a very shady message on top.

I'm figuring out whether or not I want to keep or delete
Instagram and Facebook given certain changes
that their CEO has instituted. BlueSky seems to be a
nice alternative and this platform is also setting up
a photo sharing app called Flashes, which will start
beta testing soon. Here is a link to my BlueSky
page if you would like to follow me...

Noah Reid Live In NYC (4 November 2023)

Last night my friend Steve and I saw Noah Reid and his band perform a show on The Everything's Fine Tour in support of his newest album Adjustments at The New York Society For Ethical Culture.

In addition to performing original material from Noah's three albums, the band
performed two Tina Turner classics. I've included links to these below...

What a delightfully polite man Mr. Reid is.
He took time to talk to and connect with absolutely everyone assembled after the show.
Steve snapped the photos below of Noah and I in conversation before I snapped the photo above.

This young fan had gotten a set list from the stage and Noah was very enthusiastic about signing it and posing for photos with it, even telling the young man how much he enjoyed his dancing. It was clear that this kid was thrilled to meet Noah and I think Noah was enjoying meeting him equally as much.

Noah was also very keen on making sure everyone's photos had enough lighting and clarity. Steve too remarked later at how respectful the crowd was and how positively charged the energy of the evening was (both during and after the show). Thank you, Mister Reid for a great evening of songs, stories and laughs.
